CATHOLICS AND GAYS: BACHMANN LOVES THE SINNER BUT HATES THE SIN

Republican Michelle Bachman, candidate for Congress in the Sixth District, heatedly replied that "I love Catholics" and "My church does not believe the pope is the antichrist" when WCCO's Pat Kessler asked Bachmann why any Catholic should vote for her when her church, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, believes the pope is the antichrist.
The first part of her reply, that she loves Catholics, is supported by the website of the Wisconson Evangelical Lutheran Synod. However, that same website proves that Bachmann is either ignorant or lying whe she claims that"...my church does not believe that the pope is the antichrist."
The Wisconsin Synod's website (www.wels.net): states: "We thereby affirm that we identify this 'antichrist' with the papacy as it is known to us today,...This neither means nor implies a blanket condemnation of all members of the Roman Catholic Church, for despite all the errors taught in that church, the Word of God is still heard there."
So what this comes down to is that Bachmann's church with respect to Catholics loves the sinner but hates the sin, a bit of pious hypocrisy that Gays have often been subjected to from her.
So Catholics, even right wing Catholics who otherwise agree with Bachmann, are faced with the question: how can they vote for her when her church believes the pope is the antichrist?
